● permagel ou permafrost ou pergélisol nom masculin Sol minéral brut des régions arctiques à l'horizon gelé en permanence à une certaine profondeur et formé de débris de roches dures plus ou moins broyées par l'érosion glaciaire, en mélange avec de la glace.
